At the Jazz Alley

They played and sang an amazing selection of songs, including those by Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, that one guy who won a Grammy in 1969, and a jazzy rendition of "Laura." (Spike Jones and his Other Orchestra--not his City Slickers--recorded a hilarious version of the song and it is recommended by the Editor at Large that you listen to said song but now, back to Alpert and Hall...)
They were in Hawaii and decided a mini tour was a splendid idea and to play in small clubs like the Jazz Alley.

Herb Alpert and Lani Hall

And, quite naturally, they found the Soul in every song!

Sea Fair Tug Boat Races

The parade around Elliot Bay at the end of the races became slightly disorganized and the tugboat captains practiced their trireme ramming speeds to give the crowd something to look at.
And this is S, reporting from Pier 69.
